This is a draft

This is a public DRAFT. It has not been adopted, and it has not been reviewed by qualified legal counsel. It is published early so that it can be criticised before it is binding, rather than after.

Section 4 is deliberately incomplete

Registration requires a declaration in wording prescribed by law. That wording has not been drafted or paraphrased here. The specific declaration required for registration must be reproduced here verbatim, exactly as prescribed, after confirmation by qualified legal counsel. It has deliberately not been paraphrased or drafted by this platform.

Enforced, not merely written

27 of the 48 sections correspond to something the software actually refuses to do. Those sections show a green enforcement note.

Preamble

We, the members of this party, coming together as equal citizens of India, adopt this Constitution to bind ourselves to a single standard of conduct. We hold that people are not vote banks, but the reason government exists. We ask to be judged not by what we say about ourselves, but by the records this Constitution requires us to keep and publish. We accept that power exercised without limits corrupts the person who holds it and the organisation that permits it, and we therefore place limits on ourselves before we ask for any from anyone else.

Our constitutional commitments

These are the party’s own affirmations, in its own words. They are not a reproduction of any statutory text.

  • The party bears true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India as by law established.
  • The party upholds the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India.
  • The party upholds the principles of socialism, secularism and democracy.

Disagree with something here?

That is the point of publishing it as a draft. Argue with a specific section and we will publish the argument and our answer, including when it changes our position.
