What is in place

• Keyboard navigation

  Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, including the map, where each constituency is a focusable control.

• Screen readers

  The map has a full table fallback carrying the same numbers. Progress bars expose ARIA values. Icons are hidden from assistive technology and never carry meaning on their own.

• Colour is never the only signal

  Every status has a text label beside its colour. The heat map legend states in words what each end of the scale means.

• Reduced motion

  All animation is disabled when the operating system requests reduced motion.

• Focus visibility

  A high-contrast focus ring that is never removed.

• Text and zoom

  A 16px base size, relative units throughout, and layouts that reflow rather than scrolling sideways.

• Low bandwidth

  The map loads one State at one level at a time, typically under 150 KB, rather than an 8 MB national file.

• Skip link

  A skip-to-content link is the first focusable element on every page.

What is still wrong

Listed by us, because an accessibility statement without this section is marketing.

• The platform is currently English-only. Every string is a translation key and the architecture supports more languages, but none has been translated yet. For an India-wide platform this is the most serious accessibility gap we have, and it is a resourcing problem rather than a technical one.

• The map is visual by nature. The table fallback carries the same data, but exploring geography spatially is not currently possible without sight.

• The platform has not yet been tested by disabled users. Until it has, everything on this page is our own assessment, which is not the same thing as a finding.

• Long documents such as the Constitution have no audio version.

• Form error messages are announced, but some multi-step flows do not yet move focus to the error, which makes them harder to follow with a screen reader.
