Public Transport State GovernmentCost not yet known

Public transport that reaches where people actually live

The problem

Bus and rail networks often stop short of the settlements that most need them, leaving expensive private options as the only route to work.

Why it matters

Transport cost is a direct deduction from the wage of the lowest-paid workers, every day.

Proposed solution

Map actual route coverage against population at settlement level, publish the gaps, and use that map to argue for specific route extensions.

How it would be implemented

Volunteer route surveys combined with published population data, resulting in named, specific route proposals rather than general demands.

Risks, and what we would do about them

Risk

Route economics may make some extensions genuinely unviable.

Mitigation

Publish ridership estimates with proposals. Do not demand routes we cannot show demand for.
