Sovereignty, unity, integrity and the rule of law

The problem

Debate about national security is frequently conducted through accusation rather than evidence, which serves neither security nor democracy.

Why it matters

The sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of India are not partisan questions. Democratic scrutiny of policy and unwavering commitment to the nation are compatible, and both are necessary.

Proposed solution

We affirm the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of India, constitutional governance and the rule of law. We support responsible citizenship, lawful conduct and respect for those who serve the country.

How it would be implemented

We do not produce content on military or operational matters, and we do not make allegations about national security matters that we cannot evidence.

Any political party can have its words distorted on this subject.

Mitigation

We state our position in our Constitution, in plain terms, and we do not deviate from it. We criticise policies through lawful, factual, democratic debate, and never the nation or any community.
