Government information in the language people actually speak

The problem

Official information is often unavailable in the languages spoken by the people it most affects.

Why it matters

Information a citizen cannot read is not information.

Proposed solution

Build this platform multilingual from the outset, and advocate for the same standard in public communication.

How it would be implemented

Every string in this platform is a translation key from day one, so adding a language is a translation task and not a rebuild.

Risks, and what we would do about them

Risk

Partial or poor translation can be worse than none, particularly for legal text.

Mitigation

Mark untranslated content clearly rather than machine-translating legal text. Community review before publication.
